Ampcus has named Vijay Sundhar senior vice president of enterprise AI and customer engagement following the technology services company’s acquisition of SmarterD, an artificial intelligence-focused data convergence platform.
Sundhar, who founded SmarterD and served as its chief technology officer, has more than 35 years of experience in enterprise architecture, artificial intelligence, systems integration, enterprise resource planning and technology development.
In his new position, Sundhar will oversee Ampcus’ enterprise AI strategy and work with customers and delivery teams on the development and implementation of AI capabilities. His responsibilities will include efforts to integrate AI into enterprise technology environments and connect information across IT, security, risk and operational systems.
At SmarterD, Sundhar led development of a platform designed to bring together data from different enterprise functions and use AI to generate information for operational and risk-management decisions.
The appointment follows Ampcus’ acquisition of SmarterD. The company said the SmarterD brand will continue and will be integrated into Ampcus’ cybersecurity and digital transformation operations.

Sankaran said Sundhar’s experience connecting IT, security and operational data aligns with Ampcus’ plans to expand its use of AI across cybersecurity, risk management and digital transformation services.
The move comes as organizations increasingly explore ways to move generative AI and other artificial intelligence technologies beyond experimental projects and into enterprise operations.
