The Colorado Governor’s Office of Information Technology has appointed Casey Cook as principal director of enterprise architecture, a newly created leadership position focused on enterprise technology standards, governance and modernization.
Cook will report to State Chief Information Officer and OIT Executive Director Sarah Tuneberg. In the role, he will oversee enterprise architecture, technology standards, policies and governance as the agency continues its technology modernization efforts. His responsibilities also include helping guide the evaluation and adoption of emerging technologies, including artificial intelligence.
Before joining the Colorado OIT, Cook served in technology leadership roles at the U.S. Department of Agriculture. Most recently, he was director of strategy management and complex solutions and senior cloud architect, where he oversaw enterprise architecture, cloud services and modernization initiatives across the department’s 29 agencies.
During his federal career, Cook also chaired the USDA Cloud Working Group and served as executive architect for the department’s STRATUS enterprise cloud strategy. His work included supporting technology initiatives involving federal agencies such as the U.S. Department of Defense, the Department of Homeland Security and the Federal Emergency Management Agency.
