Gartner Magic Quadrant for Enterprise Architecture Software Released

Last month, Gartner released its 2010 Magic Quadrant for Enterprise Architecture Tools report. Written by Julie Short and Chris Wilson, the new Magic Quadrant provides an up-to-date and broad coverage of currently available EA software.

According to the authors of the report, "With the global economic downturn continuing throughout 2010, and only now starting to improve, the adoption of EA tools has reflected the need to provide better management, analysis and communication capabilities to demonstrate the value these tools bring to an organization".

They continue, "the richness of tool capabilities have continued to increase, particularly in areas that enable them to support a range of EA activities such as task management, governance, risk, compliance, communication and collaboration, while maintaining a common repository."

For this report, Gartner analyzed 17 different offerings from vendors and positioned them based on their completeness of vision and ability to execute. Vendors in the upper right segment of the chart are considered the "Leaders."

Architecture & Governance congratulates both the vendors and Gartner Inc. for their success in this review.
